Living Underground
Ages ago there was a world wide war,
Monster and Man fought each other.
We tried despite our clear disadvantage.
We were sealed below their feet.
Life in the Underground,
There’s no hope to be found.
I want to see the stars in the sky,
I slowly lose the will to survive.
Our leader says he has a plan,
It’s been decades since we were damned.
As I watch the years go by,
I see more of my brothers die.
Life in the Underground,
There’s no hope to be found.
I want to see the stars in the sky,
I slowly lose the will to survive.
(Repeat twice more.)
Let Her Go
You only have the best in mind,
You know the world can be so unkind.
Working day and night, you don’t have time.
Do you think she does what you say, every minute of every day?
Do you think if she’s kept busy, she’ll stay in line?
How did you miss it?
Her rose-colored glasses,
She doesn’t need it!
Chorus:
You never thought she’d tell a lie,
Though she says a year has gone by.
See the conviction in her eyes,
Give her a sword to save your lives.
Witness her growth, you know what to do,
Her needs have changed, and so should you.
Let her go, she can take care of herself,
You will be there if she needs any help.
How did you miss it?
Rose-colored glasses,
She doesn’t need it!
You have to believe it.
How did you miss it?
No longer passive,
She’s assertive.
(Chorus.)
Just let her try.
Are you proud of your daughter?
She’s becoming more than you could’ve asked for.
Now that you’ve seen what she can do,
You need to let your angel spread her wings.
(Chorus.)
Just let go and let her try.
In Pieces
Have you stared into someone’s eyes,
Only to find your reflection inside?
Does this mean nothing else is there
Or are you just a piece of their design?
Chorus:
When someone’s pieces have been lost,
Worn away by the sands of time,
Does the tide wash in and leave behind
Another pattern to be ripped away?
Actions speak louder than words
But is there something else I should say?
But you won’t leave me when I tell you,
You won’t let me do this my own way.
(Chorus.)
(Not sung in the Single Version.)
And torn away.
All I ask is for another chance
To live on my own terms again.
All I ask is for you accept my repentance,
Maybe then I’ll even forgive myself.
You wanted to know what goes on inside of my head,
If I knew, I don’t know where I’d begin.
Before you came along I was trapped and mislead,
With only my reflection to keep me from going insane.
(Chorus.)
When someone’s been left behind,
Their pattern has been ripped away,
Do the tidal pools keep their reflection,
Or do they get lost in the flow of time?
Locked in a Cage
Finally you’re free to make your own decisions,
What do you do now that you’re not under control?
The world doesn’t make sense because you lack experience,
Lashing out against the ones who kept you in control…
Chorus:
All the ones you kept outside
Are trying to keep you alive…
Eyes are dry from tears of rage
But it’s time you opened up this cage.
You think that you must intervene, taking all the negativity,
You’re the only thing keeping it under control.
Try and see that you’re blinded by the reality of life,
And the beast is the one keeping you in control.
(Chorus.)
All the times you tried to fly,
You were just trapped inside again.
Now you’re fried, no tears to cry,
You’re trapped inside a beast again.
(Repeat once more.)
(Chorus.)
(Repeat once more.)
A Lost Pearl
Can I live up to my own wild expectations?
Be a perfect imprint of those whom I hold dear?
Should I give up like I have been told to before?
Be like others I know who are ruled by their fears?
Chorus:
I’m not who I want to be,
I’m just a shadow following.
Dancing behind the scenes,
Holding the bad habits I’m borrowing.
Please show me.
Now that she’s gone I’m lost with no light,
Still I’m defined, by another that I’ve clung to.
(Chorus.)
Yes I know that I can change
But old habits just don’t seem to go away.
It’s like it’s code in my DNA,
To let go of my self and simply obey.
Don’t you see, I’d move on if I could,
But when I see a rose I break down inside.
I may keep it in, so please believe me,
I want nothing more than to be by her side.
Please show me how to be myself,
I don’t think I can live
On my own.
(Chorus.)
Dad Rock
Take me down and break me,
Make sure I scream it out.
Take my internal struggles,
The pain I dream about.
All your little messages
Pound deep within my mind.
I just want to please you
Until the blood stops cold inside.
I wish that I stopped this before it began,
This situation was not part of the plan.
If you serve too many masters,
Suffering will be your way.
Strung out in all directions
But you don’t have any say…
Broken in the mirror,
Face shattered in the dark.
Frustration builds anxiety,
Your abuse has left its mark.
Room spinning, barely conscious,
Trailing pieces of my heart.
Hopeless tears mix in the blood,
This was not clear from the start.
Wish I could have stopped this.
If you serve too many masters,
Suffering will be your way.
Strung out in all directions
But you don’t have any say…
Sweat stings my eyes,
My muscles are tense,
Adrenaline flowing,
I prepare my defense.
Fight, or flight,
I’m sick of being under your thumb.
Make my escape,
Your torture’s made me numb.
If you serve too many masters,
Suffering will be your way.
Strung out in all directions
But you don’t have any say…
Rose’s Rebellion
Millenia in the past humanity had just awoken.
An ageless race came to us, who knew our home would be broken.
We gladly served our Goddess, upon her throne of rose.
The shine in her eyes dimmed, the coming terror undisclosed.
“All life deserves a chance”
She cried to diamonds from the sky.
They didn’t give us a second glance,
She went to war with her own kind.
This global Disease was sapient, injecting themselves into the ground.
Siphoned the life from our planet, then came the death and the famine.
Apathetic to all of the damage, Gods uncaring if we could manage.
She couldn’t stand our pain,
She leapt to battle, tears in her eyes.
Her kin had become monsters,
Leaving another species to die.
“All life deserves a chance”
She cried to diamonds from the sky.
They didn’t give us a second glance,
She went to war with her own kind.
Right.
So began the rebellion.
She couldn’t stand our pain,
She leapt to battle, tears in her eyes.
She saw her own kind were monsters,
Leaving another species to die.
The war waged for centuries,
They left, the rose shielded mankind.
Only a few of her friends survived,
To defend our home she stayed behind.
There’s no such thing as a good war.
The Rain
Have you felt the rain
Beneath layered skies of gray?
Have you felt the same?
Have you felt before,
Or were you too far away?
Deep inside the cage you wore?
Chorus:
Do you find yourself appreciating hell,
Unable to move past your hollow shell?
Slowly you decide to give this world a chance,
Slowly you change…
Do you feel like a pawn,
Endangered but forced to stay?
Do you feel like your life is gone?
Had you shut the door,
Screening out everyway,
That you could feel something more?
(Chorus, repeat twice.)
Left Behind
ft. Plastic Cyborg & Rockin’ Brony
You felt left behind,
So you kept the others down.
Tried to fill your empty chest
With what you felt you’d been denied.
In the name of equality
You kept yourself above the herd,
Your lies spouted from your FountainHead
Until they were broken words.
Chorus:
If everyone’s the same,
No one wins the game.
You’ve told yourself
This is how to numb the pain.
If everyone’s the same,
No one wins the game.
But the hole in your heart
Will still remain.
The world you’d built,
Shattered again.
Another hole in your heart
Filled with revenge instead of guilt.
In the name of equality
You tried to alter history,
Ignoring the destruction wrought,
Just changing one small thing.
(Chorus.)
Now there’s nothing left but dust,
There’s an angel pleading in your ear.
Now only you can save the world,
Were you left behind by those you held dear?
If everyone’s the same,
No one wins the game.
You lied to yourself,
Only you can take the blame.
If everyone’s the same,
No one wins the game,
But if we play along,
We can stake our claim.
